Work your corners

A little corner off our kitchen has had a mini desk built into it
Did you think you didn't have room in your home for a much needed desk? A place where the children can do their homework and where you can do your work, online shopping or studying. Take a fresh look at every corner of your home and see if you can miraculously turn one of them into a desk.
Orlando Tast Lamp in antique brass, £35, Tesco Direct
I transformed a space just off our kitchen into a work station. A hole for cables has been carefully cut into the corner of what is really an extra large shelf in the bookcase that works as a desk. This means that there are no wires dragging across the table top. Whilst I ditched an ugly Tupperware full of crayons and filled up a vase with them instead, which looks much nicer.
Velvet Feather print cushion £10, Ombre throw in beige, £25, Tesco Direct
Whilst an old cane chair that was about to go on a skip has been bought back to work as a desk chair and given a homely contemporary feel with a plump cushion to sit on and a throw that can be wrapped around anyone hard at work into the small hours.

This post is part of a Tesco Direct promotion, but as usual the views and opinions are our own
